Orthotics

At our health & wellness clinic in Cambridge, Ontario, we understand that each person’s foot health is unique. Our custom orthotics are prescribed based on your specific foot type, whether you have low or high arches, and your individual complaints, such as metatarsal pain. We also take into consideration the style of shoes you wear, ensuring a comprehensive approach to your foot health.

What are Orthotics?

Custom foot orthotics correct a person’s abnormal biomechanics, helping to remove pain and improve foot function and alignment. They work like teeth braces – they mold the feet and improve their structure over time.

The orthotic prescribed will depend on the foot type – (low vs. high arch), the patient’s complaint (ie. Plantar fasciitis, knee or lower back/hip pain), and style of shoe worn (sport, casual, or dress).

Custom Orthotics

Custom foot orthotics correct a person’s abnormal biomechanics, helping to remove pain and improve foot function and alignment.

They work like teeth braces -they mold the feet and improve their structure over time.

The orthotic prescribed will depend on the foot type – (low vs. high arch), the patient’s complaint (ie. Plantar fasciitis, knee or lower back/hip pain), and style of shoe worn ( sport, casual, or dress).

Following a consultation/examination, the patient’s foot posture is measured and the gait is analysed. A 3 dimensional foot cast can be achieved by taking a foam impression of the foot or by using Gaitscan technology (a pressure plate the patient walks across).
